Happiness, Education and Relational Goods

On Friday, July 24, at 4.00 PM, the School of Civil Happiness will welcome a new webinar on “Happiness, education and relational goods” with Helena Marujo, Coordinator UNESCO Chair on Education for Global Peace Sustainability, University of Lisbon, in dialogue with Antonio Molinari PhD student in Pedagogy (Università Cattolica), Joana Nazaré Morgado, PhD student in Sustainability Sciences (University of Lisbon), Simone Righi, Cooperatore sociale Confocooperative and Valquiria Ribeiro, Master in Economics and Management (Sophia Univesity). Introduction by Valeria Guarino, Project Manager Pontifical Theological Institute John Paul II.

Starting from some real personal stories and data from qualitative studies in Portugal school contexts, Prof. Marujo will present a quick overview of some new educational programs and claims (from World Economic Forum, UNESCO, UNICEF) and their aims will be briefly described. Public happiness and relational goods, as well as the Greek concept of oikeiosis will be defined. They will be related to some of the educational movements, such as citizenship and democratic education, peace education, positive education and character strengths, relational education. A blend of objectives and processes to help endorse public happiness in the educational realm will be also discussed.

The Policies and Happiness village offers a crash course on happiness and economics, approached through the lens of civil economy, open to all the participants of The Economy of Francesco and to those who are interested in delving into the issues related to happiness and economics.
