LISTENING, a step in the culture of encounter<\/h1>\n

Listening, going to meet the other, especially the marginalized. Thus begins the path of collaboration between a group of young Latin Americans and CELAM (Latin American Episcopal Conference).<\/h3>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

“Our Latin American reality is marked by social scourges, inequalities, poverty, violence, marginalization of native peoples, low levels of schooling, depredation of the Amazon region and in general of the common home”. This is how Diego P\u00e9rez describes the social and economic context in Latin America. The panorama is devastating, but at the same time, it is an even stronger work commitment for the young people who work for the Economy of Francesco<\/strong>. “We are especially challenged to bring the Economy of Francesco to life in this region that we call Patria Grande<\/em>” adds Diego.<\/span><\/p>\n

Diego is Mexican, and together with other young people from the region have created a group called the Latin American Network of The Economy of Francesco<\/strong>. Their objective is to continue creating collaborative networks and to carry out the work they are developing within this movement.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The first approach has been with CELAM, which is preparing for the Ecclesial Assembly of Latin America and the Caribbean, to be held from November 21 to 28. It is an experience of listening, dialogue and encounter, “in the light of the Word of God, the Aparecida Document and the Magisterium of Pope Francis”, to contemplate the reality of the peoples and to deepen the challenges of the continent in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic<\/strong>. To this end, they have had as a starting point a common denominator: to go to the encounter of all.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

The process of the assembly begins by listening, and then creating a synthesis that gathers the main points of this listening and then seeks to create a document that will be a reference for the whole area.\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n

The first phase has a special slogan: listen, without leaving anyone behind, give a voice to those who have no voice, listen to those who are ignored. The young people of The Economy of Francesco are driven by this same motto and live it from their own fields of study and work. However, they have decided to live it in an even more concrete way, creating a partnership that allows them to reach out to those who have been forgotten. These young Latin Americans know that this listening is not an easy job, but they are willing to go personally to the most marginalized neighborhoods and listen in the first person to the voice of these people. “We, the young people of The Economy of Francesco, have this radar and now we put it at the service of CELAM, as a collaboration”<\/strong>, they refer.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Soon this Latin American network also plans to begin a formation process<\/strong>, for which they have secured the support and accompaniment of CELAM.<\/span><\/p>\n

LA ESCUCHA, un paso en la cultura del encuentro<\/h1>\n

Escuchar, ir al encuentro del otro, especialmente de los marginados. As\u00ed empieza el camino de colaboraci\u00f3n entre un grupo de j\u00f3venes latinoamericanos y el CELAM (Conferencia Episcopal Latinoamericana).<\/h3>\n

\u201cNuestra realidad latinoamericana est\u00e1 marcada por los flagelos sociales, inequidades, pobreza, violencia, marginaci\u00f3n de los pueblos originarios, bajos niveles de escolaridad, depredaci\u00f3n de la regi\u00f3n Amaz\u00f3nica y en general de la casa com\u00fan\u201d. As\u00ed describe Diego P\u00e9rez el contexto social y econ\u00f3mico que vive Am\u00e9rica Latina. El panorama es devastador, pero al mismo tiempo es un compromiso de trabajo a\u00fan m\u00e1s fuerte para los j\u00f3venes que trabajan por la Econom\u00eda de Francisco.<\/strong> \u201cNos interpela en especial a hacer vida la Econom\u00eda de Francisco en esta regi\u00f3n que llamamos \u201cPatria Grande\u201d\u201d agrega Diego.<\/span><\/p>\n

Diego es mexicano, y junto a otros j\u00f3venes de la regi\u00f3n han creado un grupo denominado Red Latinoamericana de Econom\u00eda de Francisco. Su objetivo es continuar creando redes de colaboraci\u00f3n y llevar a la realizaci\u00f3n el trabajo que desarrollan dentro de este movimiento.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Un primer acercamiento ha sido con la CELAM, la cual se prepara para la Asamblea Eclesial de Latinoam\u00e9rica y el Caribe, que se llevar\u00e1 a cabo del 21 al 28 de Noviembre. Se trata de una experiencia de escucha, di\u00e1logo y encuentro, \u201ca la luz de la Palabra de Dios, del Documento de Aparecida y del Magisterio del Papa Francisco\u201d, para contemplar la realidad de los pueblos y profundizar en los desaf\u00edos del continente en el contexto de la pandemia por el Covid-19<\/strong>. Para ello han tenido como punto de partida un denominador com\u00fan: ir al encuentro de todos.<\/span><\/p>\n

El proceso de la asamblea comienza por la escucha, para luego crear una s\u00edntesis que recoge los puntos principales de esta escucha y posteriormente busca crear un documento que ser\u00e1 de referencia para toda la zona.<\/span><\/h4>\n

La primera fase tiene una consigna especial: escuchar, sin dejar a ninguno atr\u00e1s, darle voz al que no tiene, escuchar al ignorado. Los j\u00f3venes de The Economy of Francesco tienen como motor esta misma consigna y la viven desde sus propios \u00e1mbitos de estudio y de trabajo. Sin embargo, han decidido vivirlo de una forma a\u00fan m\u00e1s concreta, creando una colaboraci\u00f3n que permita ir al encuentro de aquellos que han sido olvidados. Estos j\u00f3venes latinoamericanos saben que esta escucha no es un trabajo f\u00e1cil, pero est\u00e1n dispuestos a ir personalmente a los barrios m\u00e1s marginados y escuchar en primera persona la voz de estas personas. \u201cLos j\u00f3venes de la econom\u00eda de Francisco tenemos este radar y ahora lo ponemos al servicio del CELAM, como una colaboraci\u00f3n\u201d<\/strong>, refieren los chicos.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
