We are launching a new transversal project at the EoF movement called Mission Economy*, and you are invited to offer your contribution to this process. The project is inspired by the work of Mariana Mazzucato**, who is one of Pope Francis’ favorite readings in the field. This is an opportunity for all of us to discuss public policies from an academic perspective, based on the principles of the Economy of Francesco, and towards concrete agendas (local, regional, national, international) in different areas.

As followers of Pope Francis’ call, we aim for the resignification of the economic system. Therefore, we need to understand that “what is needed is a politics which is far-sighted and capable of a new, integral and interdisciplinary approach to handling the different aspects of the crisis.” (Laudato si, n. 197). Also, “the development of a global community of fraternity based on the practice of social friendship on the part of peoples and nations calls for a better kind of politics, one truly at the service of the common good.” (Fratelli tutti, n. 154)

So, if you want to join us on this journey, please fill out and submit the following form: https://forms.gle/MnbHbnuBBznugJ6w8. The deadline to submit the form is Aug 31st. We will hold two panel sessions at the event in the afternoon of Sep 22nd (2-3pm and 3:30-4:30pm), with the opportunity for short presentations of selected communications. After the event, we plan to continue meeting once a month, and then work on publications and other actions that derive from our communal process.
