Eight hundred years after the passing of St Francis of Assisi, the call that transformed his life continues to resonate: “Go and repair my house.”

Today, in a world marked by conflicts, growing inequalities, ecological crises and deepening divisions, this call feels as urgent as ever. What does it mean to repair an economy? What needs to change in the way we live, work and relate to one another? And how can we respond together?

These questions lie at the heart of RE/PAIRING TOGETHER, the EoF Online Global Gathering 2026.

To repair is to recognise what is wounded and take responsibility for rebuilding it. But repairing also requires us to re-pair: to reconnect, restore relationships, strengthen our bonds and rediscover the meaning of walking together.

For The Economy of Francesco, this is both a call to transform the world around us and an invitation to look within our own community, to come together again, listen to one another and renew our shared commitment.

A YEAR OF QUESTIONS, EXPERIENCES AND NEW PATHS

Inspired by the legacies of St Francis of Assisi and Pope Francis, young economists, researchers, entrepreneurs and changemakers around the world continue to explore how fraternity, care and the common good can shape a different economy.

Throughout 2026, this journey has taken many forms: research and academic dialogue, initiatives for peace, experiences of fraternity, educational projects and local actions led by EoF Hubs and Villages across different countries and territories.

On 27 November, we will come together online to revisit some of these experiences, share what we have been building and look towards the next steps of our common journey.

The gathering will unfold around three questions:

WHAT CALLS US?

We begin with the world we live in and the challenges that demand our attention. Eight centuries later, what does the legacy of St Francis ask of us today? And what does it mean to respond to this call through economics, research and concrete action?

WHAT ARE WE BUILDING AND REPAIRING?

From peacebuilding initiatives and research into fraternity to new perspectives on economic ethics, education and community-led projects, we will discover how EoF has been putting its values into practice throughout 2026. Through stories and experiences from around the world, we will explore the many ways a different economy is already taking shape.

WHAT COMES NEXT?

Repairing is an ongoing journey. We will look ahead to 2027, sharing new directions, initiatives and opportunities to continue working together, strengthening our community and bringing the Economy of Francesco to life in new places and contexts.

AN INVITATION TO COME TOGETHER

More than a moment to look back, this gathering is an opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces, welcome new voices and renew the relationships that sustain our movement.

Whether you have been part of EoF for years, wish to reconnect after some time away, or are discovering The Economy of Francesco for the first time, you are invited to be part of this journey.
