A Workshop Experience at the Economy of Francesco Global Event 2025

Workshop organized by the Village Vocation & Profit – Testimony written by Flavio Tomassi

I chose to participate in The Economy of Francesco, and in particular in the Hack Your Purpose workshop, because I wanted to better understand what truly drives people to carry forward a movement like this. From my perspective, it is essential to start from the why—the deep reason that moves us to face certain challenges. Only by understanding this inner motivation, and by grounding action in vocation and purpose, can meaningful and lasting change be achieved.

My interest in this workshop also stems from a growing curiosity about the Vocation & Profit village and its international community. Over time, I have been drawn to the reflections developed within this space, where profit is not separated from human values but rethought as something more sustainable, ethical, and integral—closely connected to vocation and responsibility.

During the workshop, I experienced a strong unity of intent and a shared desire to transform the rules of today’s economy. What clearly emerged was the awareness that each of us carries a personal vocation and unique talents, which find their true meaning when placed at the service of the community, especially of the most vulnerable. This spirit of solidarity made us feel at home, like brothers and sisters, despite our differences and backgrounds. It is only by staying united and by cultivating this dream together that such a movement can grow over time and generate concrete initiatives capable of making a real difference at the local level.
