Young economists, entrepreneurs and change-makers are invited to explore models for infusing economics with ethical values on 15 July 2021 in a 90-minute World Food Forum (WFF) Masterclass on “Integral Ecology”, hosted by the Economy of Francesco (EoF).
Named by the pontificate of Pope Francis, the EoF is a movement of global youth committed to giving “a soul to economy.” This interactive WFF Masterclass will provide an introduction to the EoF and discuss how an integral ecology perspective can be applied to a variety of interconnected themes, including energy, agriculture, finance, poverty, justice, and notions of work and care.
The masterclass will also present integral ecology from indigenous peoples’ perspectives, and utilize breakout rooms to facilitate live debates on integral ecology in relation to specific topics, such as energy access, food systems, gender inequality and more.

Patrícia Gualingua, representative of Sarayaku women, indigenous peoples of the equatorial forest;
Diego Perez, spokesperson from the Economy of Francesco, and co-founder of the Economy of Francesco Latin American Network
Moderation: Mariana Maria, Research Fellow at the Economy of Francesco; Coordinator of the Energy and Poverty Village of the Economy of Francesco; PhD. candidate in Economics at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP).
Also, discussion rooms will be available to discussion the Integral Ecology’s perspective by EoF Energy & Poverty, Agriculture & Justice, Women for Economy and Work & Care Villages.
This WFF Masterclass will be presented in English and Spanish.
