With the awareness of our limitations, we know we have done a lot in our humble way, while leaving room for future improvement [...] This would demonstrate how “open” is the innovation process on which the entire project -which is so dear to us- is based.
On October 17, the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, The Economy of Francesco would like to contribute to celebrate the date by organizing an online conversation entitled "How do we measure poverty?" that will focus on extreme poverty as a multidimensional phenomenon.
“The Energy & Poverty Village has been debating a way of transit to a low-carbon energy system but with no one left behind. We believe and defend a Social Green Deal, a great amount of effort towards a cleaner and more inclusive energy system in harmony with our "Common Home" as defended by Pope Francis”.
“[...] we have seen how blurred is the boundary between something that can seem a personal and inner call (the personal vocation to gratuitousness), and a concrete necessity of developing some methods to not lead the whole company structure to the mere research of profit”.
Is it possible for finance to be at the service of humanity? If so, how? The perspectives from a couple of Economy of Francesco participants. On this occasion, we want to share the testimony of Andrea and Vicky, both are enrolled in the Finance and Humanity village.
It does not matter if one analyzes this relationship of vocation from a person or a company; in any case, the important thing is to transcend. [...] It is to understand that from each vocation, the greatest profit that can be made is the common good.
Personally, being part of EoF has been an enriching experience, I believe it's the start of something bigger, meeting and debating with other youth around the globe that have the same worry and curiosity for our economy, placing people at the center and taking into account the environment.
“If Economy was a Woman… What would She see? What would She feel? What would She say? What would She DO?” This activity has made an irreversible impact on me. It was at our first online group meeting so full of expectations, doubts and hopes.
This situation [the pandemic] is a real opportunity. We are one of the first worldwide communities built under these pandemic situations, meaning that we are an ongoing process born on this particular situation. So we are the avantgarde of how the post covid world will be.
