S4P – July 2, 2024
On June 8, participants climbed Mte. Cuccitello in Sicily, covering 8 km, where they previously planted trees to protest wildfires and now walked to promote a culture of peace in an economy of peace. On June 17, during the EoF International Summer School in Mexico, 2.971 steps were donated by participants who walked from Imdosoc to Viveros. On June 16, a walk on Monte Subasio with the Focolare Movement saw sixty participants walking, singing, and praying for peace, donating 10.104 steps. On June 15, Đức Linh from Vietnam explored an island at sunrise, donating 4.936 steps. From June 4 to June 12, Estela Tavares walked 280 km on the Camino Primitivo in Spain.
And again .. on June 16, a beautiful loop hike in the Nevegal Pre-Alps offered stunning views of the UNESCO heritage Southern Dolomites and Belluno, with a stop at the Sanctuary of Maria Immacolata Nostra Signora di Lourdes the day before. On June 18, participants walked from Porta Miano through Bosco di Capodimonte, pausing for moments of reflection on creation. On June 22, the Economy Of Francesco Piedmont group and the Focolare Movement, during their “Mariapoli” event, marched from Bardonecchia’s Olympic Village to the Chapel of Santa Chiara and San Francesco. About 150 people participated, reading the 2020 Pact with Pope Francis, reflecting on S4P and EoF, and attending a Mass by Bishop Derio Olivelo. The same day, another group walked from the WWII detention camp in Fossoli to the convent of the Poor Clares in Carpi.
