The Economy of Francesco Youth Assembly is opening a call for five new Young Supporting Members to help represent the voices of the global Economy of Francesco Community within The Economy of Francesco Foundation.

The Economy of Francesco Foundation was established in 2024 to support and coordinate the journey of the international Economy of Francesco (EoF) Community. It promotes research, education, entrepreneurship and international collaboration, bringing together young economists, researchers, entrepreneurs, changemakers, institutions and partners committed to the common good and to building a more just, inclusive and sustainable economy. Closely connected to the global EoF Community, the Foundation safeguards young people’s protagonism through its Assembly of Representatives, composed of Young Supporting Members and Ordinary supporters, ensuring that the voices and experiences of the Community remain an integral part of its life and governance.

About the role

As a Young Supporting Member, you will contribute to the life of The Economy of Francesco Foundation and help strengthen the connection between the Foundation and the global EoF Community.

The role includes:

  • Representing the diversity and voices of the global Economy of Francesco Community.
  • Contributing to the strategic life of the Foundation.
  • Supporting collaboration and participation across the Economy of Francesco network.
  • Participating in monthly online Youth Assembly meetings.
  • Bringing your experience, perspective and commitment to the common good into the work of the Foundation.

As this is a mid-mandate renewal, new Young Supporting Members will join the existing Youth Assembly for the remainder of its current mandate, until April 2028. The role is voluntary and requires a minimum commitment of approximately 4 hours per month including meetings / working groups.

Who can apply?

We welcome applications from young people who:

  • Are between 18 and 35 years old.
  • Have been actively involved in the Economy of Francesco for at least 2 years.
  • Are engaged in one or more areas connected to the EoF mission, including students and scholars, entrepreneurs and business leaders, workers and professionals, and/or promoters of the common good.
  • Have a good working level of English, our primary working language.
  • Knowledge of at least one additional EoF language — Italian, Spanish, Portuguese or French — is strongly valued.
  • Can commit a minimum of 4 hours per month to Assembly activities.
  • Demonstrate a proactive, committed, collaborative, respectful attitude and a willingness to uphold the Economy of Francesco Pact and the values and commitments it expresses.

Previous experience coordinating Economy of Francesco projects, Villages or Hubs is highly valued. At the same time, particular consideration may be given to candidates who are no longer serving in these roles or who are transitioning out of them, in order to encourage broader participation and shared responsibility across the EoF Community.

What are we looking for?

The Youth Assembly is particularly interested in strengthening its diversity and representation.

We especially encourage applications from:

  • Countries and regions not currently represented in the Youth Assembly.
  • People with an entrepreneurial background or active involvement in Economy of Francesco projects and initiatives.
  • Candidates who can bring perspectives and experiences that are currently underrepresented within the Assembly.

Selection process

1. Application

Submit the online application form, including:

  • Your personal information.
  • A 30-second motivation video explaining why you would like to serve as a Young Supporting Member.
  • Endorsement letters from at least two members of the Economy of Francesco Community, including their contact details.

The application window will remain open for two weeks.

2. Evaluation & Interviews

A temporary Selection Working Group within the Youth Assembly with a representation of the Executive Team will review applications according to the eligibility criteria, the Statutes of The Economy of Francesco Foundation and the Assembly’s current representational needs.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a 30-minute interview.

3. Final admission

The Selection Working Group will recommend a shortlist of candidates to the Board of Directors of The Economy of Francesco Foundation, which will formally admit the new Youth Supporting Members.

Selected candidates will be informed individually, followed by a communication to the wider Economy of Francesco Community.
