Following the publication of the first Encyclical of Pope Leo XIV, we invite our global community to a moment of shared reflection and dialogue on safeguarding the human person in the age of artificial intelligence.
Together, we hope to deepen the messages and perspectives opened by this new text, exploring its implications for culture, economy, technology, and our common future.

Speaker Bios

FADI CHEHADÉ is an Internet entrepreneur who founded, grew, and sold numerous information services companies including Connectica, a digital content management company acquired by Ingram Micro (IM) in 1994; RosettaNet, a B-to-B eCommerce standards organization whose founding members included Microsoft (MSFT), IBM (IBM), Hewlett Packard (HPE), SAP Software (SAP SE), Nokia (NOK), and Oracle (ORCL) – later acquired by GS1 in 2000; Viacore, a supply chain integration platform purchased by IBM (IBM) in 2006; and Vocado, a provider of cloud-based transaction processing software for the education industry acquired by Oracle (ORCL) in 2017. Chehadé also held corporate posts at AT&T (T), Ingram Micro (IM), and IBM (IBM), where as General Manager, he led the growth of IBM’s Global Technology Services in the Middle East and Africa.
He served as the President and CEO of ICANN from 2012 to 2016, the international body governing the Internet’s key resources and policies.
Additionally, Chehadé was senior advisor to Klaus Schwab, the Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum, and a member of the UN Secretary-General’s High-Level Panel on Digital Cooperation. Chehadé was most recently a partner and senior advisor at ABRY Partners, helping to source and manage new investments, and provide strategic advice to portfolio companies.
He is currently the co-founder and managing partner of Ethos Capital.
He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Identity Digital. Chehadé was a fellow at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government and Oxford’s Blavatnik School of Government. He is the Chairman of the PAX Foundation, an independent, non-partisan, non-sectarian organization created to bring economic revival across the Levant region.
He received his MS in Engineering Management from Stanford University and his BS in Computer Science summa cum laude from New York University.
Recently, Carnegie Corporation of New York honored Chehadé as a 2020 Great Immigrant.

Sr HELEN ALFORD is member of the Congregation of St Catherine of Siena of Newcastle, Natal (Dominicans) since 1994. President of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas/Angelicum. Se is also Senior Adviser to the “Blueprint for Better Business”, Consultor to the Dicastery for the Promotion of Integral Human Development, Expert of the Holy See’s Agency for the Evaluation and Promotion of Quality in Ecclesiastical Universities and Faculties (AVEPRO). She is a member of the Scientific Committee of EoF.

LUIGINO BRUNI is an economist and historian of economic thought whose research interests include philosophy, literature, and biblical studies. At LUMSA University, he is Full Professor of Political Economy and Coordinator of the PhD Program in Civil Economy Sciences. He is also a columnist for Avvenire and President of the Scuola di Economia Civile, which he helped promote and co-found together with Stefano Zamagni. He is Vice President of The Economy of Francesco Foundation.

MARIANA REIS MARIA is Assistant Professor at the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP). Holds a Ph.D. in Economics from UNICAMP, which included a student visiting period at the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna di Studi Universitari e Perfezionamento in Pisa, funded by the CAPES-PrINT program. Researcher at the Group of Applied Macroeconomics Studies (GEMAP) and the Center for Industrial and Technological Economics (NEIT). Her expertise lies in Industrial Economics and Innovation and Ecological Economics. Additionally, serves as a young member within the assembly of The Economy of Francesco Foundation and the Scientific Committee, a member of the International Society for Ecological Economics (ISEE), and serves on the board of directors of the Brazilian Society for Ecological Economics (ECOECO). She was a Fellow of the EoF Academy and is a member of the Scientific Committee of EoF.
